Oxidation Half Reaction Of Anode

  • The Cl- ions migrate to the anode.
  • Each Cl- ions that reach the anode gives one electron to the anode and oxidizes to the neutral Cl atom in the primary process.
  • Two Cl atoms then combine to form Cl2 gas in the secondary process.
